THE WASAGA BEACH FEST STAFF SPOTLIGHT: LIDO CHILELLI In 1988, Lido Chilelli, proprietor of Lido's In The Beach, the popular Toronto Beaches area restaurant, combined his love of live music and devotion to family entertainment to produce Toronto's first ever Beaches International Jazz Festival. Soon thereafter, Chilelli realized his talent as a producer and assisted in the creation of The Corso Italia festival. Success as a producer did not stop there, and now Chilelli is involved in the New Country 95.3 Canada Day Jam, Y108 Rock ‘n’ Role Picnic, BeachFest Mix 99.9, Waterfront Blues and the The Barrie Waterfront Festival. Two decades later, Chilleli is recognized as one of the few producers to promote Canadian Jazz, R&B and Blues talent. Chilelli's resolve has brought him considerable recognition, including feature coverage in national magazines, the recipient of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and the honour of being the Lion Clubs' "Lion of the Year." Wasaga Beach Fest presents new opporunties for Chilelli. He is extremely excited about branching out of Toronto. Wasaga is a well-known family retreat that boasts a beautiful beach along the calm white sandy shores of Georgian Bay. For generations, it has been a perfect family retreat and it is blessed with a strong sense of community. Building on these positive elements, Chilleli hopes to promote some very big names in the Canadian music industry as well introduce promising new comers.
